Have this MB running with a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz processor, probably the last great AGP graphics card made by HIS Radeon HD 4670, powered by a BFG 650 watt power supply and a 120GB SSD Drive with a 2GB Western Digital hard drive for data, pics and music. There's an SB Audigy Sound card with 2GB of Memory. Have this wrapped up in a Kooler Master Centurion Mid-Tower case with a see-through side panel.Cons:No windows 7 Drivers. Old Technology, but vintage for me. Had a previous version of this MB that used a E6600 Dual Core 2 processor but wouldn't work with R3.0. Expensive for old technology.Overall Review:Last of the Mohicans.AGP still alive and kicking and this Motherboard is it. Thanks to ASRock for still making the last know AGP Motherboard available anywhere and thanks to Newegg for carrying it.

Pros:This board is based on a variant of the Intel 865 chipset, which is one of the newest Intel chipsets that have driver support for Windows 98 (as well of course XP). This particular model was released in 2012, nearly a decade after the chipset was released. As such, this board has capacitors that are not aged as much as a typical used 865 board you would find. CPU support is pretty wide ranged, from the Prescott Pentium 4 all the way to certain Wolfdale Core 2 Duo and Pentium Dual Core processors.Cons:The 20 pin motherboard power connector is in the center of the board, which will make cable management look untidy no matter what.As another reviewer noted, the chipset drivers on the CD or ASRock's website will not work with Windows XP. You will need to download the 6.3.0.1007 version of the Intel chipset drivers which are found under Windows 98 on the driver download page for this product. This board won't support AGP 3.3v cards (pre-Geforce, pre-Radeon, most AGP 3dfx cards) if you are the kind of person wanting to run period appropriate cards. You can run Glide games by using a PCI 3dfx card or using nGlide. The GeForce 2 to GeForce FX series will support 8 bit paletized textures and table fog.Overall Review:The BIOS has an option for 'compatibility' mode for the IDE and SATA controllers if running Windows 98/ME.

It disables one of the two IDE channels allows you to use one SATA device. I decided to leave it on 'enhanced' mode even though I was installing Windows 98 SE because I needed both IDE channels for my build (The SD to CompactFlash adapter I use needs its own IDE channel and most SATA optical drives do not have an option to plug in a CD audio cable). It does not appear to be causing any incompatibility issues. Pros:Legacy OS support; win98, winME, win2000, and winXP. The fact they still manufacture this is kinda amazing. This is great for any one in a Enterprise environment that needs to run legacy software on actual hardware, or any computer geek who just wants to mess around, (like me).Cons:No support for anything over winXP; you could maybe get win10 to work, but I wouldn't count on it.

Linux mint would work best as a main OS.This mobo will barely (if at all), work with windows 7. So don't use this with win7! This is the win7 motherboard:I hope you future win7 motherboard seekers will see this and stop making the mistake. It's $15 more, but it actually works!Overall Review:A good home use would be to put win98 (or whatever) on a 80-120gb ide HDD, and dual boot it with Linux mint which would be stored on a 120-250gb SSD.

Even though the 1.5gbs bandwidth would bottleneck the ssd, it would be more than fast enough for what you would use Linux for.A dual-boot, classic gaming machine. Old winOS for classic games, with Linux for web and office use. Please note that it needs third party adapter to be efficient in web browsing and video streaming.

Use a usb wi-fi, or wired adapter; or a internal version of the same thing. Pros:noneCons:I've had repeated boot issues from the start.

Seems to be a bios related issue, but not sure. Then, no output at all with the onboard video and Windows 7 only loads basic drivers. I finally get Windows 7 loaded and the onboard lan just stops working so no connection to the internet. I may try to flash the bios to the latest version and if no luck this board goes back.

I've also ordered new memory to see if that makes a difference, but at this point I'm about ready to pack it up and send it back.Overall Review:I would not recommend. Maybe I just got a bad board.

I definitely don't want another. Dear Jon,Thank you for purchase and review. Please visit link below for mainboard's support OS list and driver can be download.Specification link under OS section: download link: you have any technical support inquiry, please contact us at will assist you shortly.Thank youASRock SUPPORTTech Support Email: http://www.ASRock.com/Support/tsd.asp. Pros:One of the last remaining new boards that has AGP slot and IDE connections.

ASROCK is usually good stuffCons:Not much.except read belowOverall Review:Could not get the board to boot up. Tried different power supply's and memory sticks but could not get to the Bios/boot screen. Screen remained blank as if it was receiving no signal.

I was going to have it replaced but that would have taken 9 or 10 days by the time I returned the defective board and then wait for the replacement.unfortunately I just do not have that kind of time so I purchased a second board and will just return the bad one for a refund. I'm kinda surprised with ASROCK as I have owned a ton of their stuff and never had a problem. Lets hope it was a fluke and the next board works perfectly.

I will change to 5 stars if all goes well with number 2. Pros:This is a poor choice for building a modern Windows machine, but if you want it to run Windows 98/ME, as I did, it could hardly get any better. My specs are similar to the other retrocomputing reviewer's: E5800 CPU, 2 GB GSkill DDR400, Geforce 6800 Ultra, but I tossed in two SATA SSDs and an IDE DVD+R DL burner. Windows ME has never been more stable or more performant.Cons:1066 MHz support is essentially broken. I RMA'd the board thinking I'd gotten a bad one before installing an E5800 instead of the E6800 I initially chose. That resolved all my problems booting. And really, the E5800 is plenty fast in this system.

Windows ME boots in about two seconds in my setup, literally. Well, it does once the mobo is done POSTing, which takes several seconds. I don't know what it's doing exactly, but it's slow. Windows reaches its desktop faster than the POST completes.Overall Review:If you're using Windows ME like I am, install with only one of your two sticks of memory installed. Once it's installed, shut down, but the second 1 gb stick in, and edit C:WINDOWSSYSTEM.INI to contain the following. This will fix your problems from having too much RAM, leaving you 1.5 GB accessible by the OS:vcacheMinFileCache=131072MaxFileCache=524288386EnhMaxPhysPage=60000ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1.
